The process to renew your notary commission is exactly the same as the application process to obtain your first appointment. The application form is the same and all the required information must be submitted. See sections 117.01(2) and (6), Florida Statutes.

The State does not notify you prior to the expiration of your notary commission, but Suretyware will start sending you notifications about three months prior to expiration.

To ensure there is no break in your commission, complete and submit your renewal application about two months in advance of your expiration date, or earlier if your application will require special review by the Governor’s Office.

Continue using your current notary seal through the end of your current commission. If you are reappointed, you must not use your new notary seal until the first day of your new commission. Destroy your old seal to prevent its misuse.

Some questions may require longer answers than this form allows. If that is the case then use the "Attachments" from the top or bottom menu to complete your answer. Remember to answer the questions fully to include dates, certificate numbers and copies of documents. This will aid in the expedient processing of your application.

After completing your application, and any additional forms, your Notary Application (PDF) will be emailed as an attachment to your Personal Email address that you provided in "Your Contact Information" section. Each additional form you created will be emailed in the same manner.

Remember to FILL OUT and sign the Notary Supplies Form and mail all documents, along with your check, to the address below.

Upon issuance of your Notary Public Commission from the State of Florida, our agency will send it along with your bond certificate and your selected supplies to the address you specified in "Your Contact Information" section.
